Personality Edit

History Edit

Early LifeEdit

Huntsman was born in 1960 in Redwood City, California. He initially dropped out of high school to be a keyboard player in a rock band called "Wizard". After that didn't work out, he got his G.E.D. and enrolled in the University of Utah and later the University of Pennsylvania where he got a Bachelor's Degree in International Politics. He later worked as an executive at the Huntsman Corporation

Political Career Edit

Huntsman worked as a staff assistant in the Reagan administration and was a delegate at the 1988 Republican National Convention. During the George H.W. Bush administration he worked as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce and later as the Ambassador to Singapore. During the George W. Bush administration he served as one of the two Deputy United States Trade Representatives. He resigned from this position to run for Governor of Utah, which he won successfully. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the State of Utah was number one in job growth during Huntsman's tenure. In 2008, Huntsman endorsed John McCain, despite the majority of other politicians in his state endorsing Mitt Romney. He also delivered a nominating speech for Sarah Palin as Vice President at the 2008 Republican convention. Barack Obama later appointed Huntsman as Ambassador to China. He resigned this position to run in the 2012 Republican primary for President. While all the other candidates were campaigning in Iowa, Huntsman campaigned in New Hampshire instead. When he came up in third in New Hampshire, he dropped out and endorsed Romney.
