Official Presidential portrait of Thomas Jefferson (by Rembrandt Peale, 1800)

Thomas Jefferson (April 13 1743 – July 4, 1826) was the third president of the United States.

The main reason he is here is because he was the main man who gave us our form of limited government and Jeffersonian Republicanism we enjoy and hold dear today. He was one of the first to fight against Washington, Hamilton and Adams, who wanted a strong British-like centralized government, just without a king. He was one of the first populists who fought for his country, despite many of the bad things he did, like the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
